The Lion’s Gate Portal which occurs annually between 7/28 ~ 8/12 is when the Sun in Leo forms an alignment with the fixed star Sirius, Orion’s Belt and the Earth.
Astronomically Sirius is the brightest most luminous star visible from Earth.
Astrologically in ancient traditions it is linked to honor, renown and wealth.
According to some interpretations the Fixed Star Sirius is believed to be a Spiritual Sun and so serves as a channel for higher frequencies and divine wisdom.
Having moved through the Lion’s Gate Portal during the time frame of 7/28/2026 ~ 8/12/2026 which then brought us to a new beginning. This occurred through the eventful New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo on 8/12/2026.
It comprised of the Sun at 20 degrees Leo conjunct the Moon at 20 degrees in opposition to the North Node at 29 degrees Aquarius.
This event emphasized the energies of lessons learned from the past as the South Node in Leo at 29 degrees joined in the Sun/Moon conjunction.
A very paradoxical New Moon through its interplay with the Nodal Axis. Specifically the South Node in Leo which contains our inherent knowledge of lessons from the past.
This recalls sparks of the need to be acknowledged for one’s brilliance and creativity. To then be carried forward towards the North Node in Aquarius.
Inspiring impulses that must take the radiant sparks of creative energy of the Leo South Node to be utilized in service of a broader collective purpose. In its completion through the culminating Full Moon Lunar Eclipse on the 28th of August.
For now a bit about the New Moon Solar Eclipse in Leo which had occurred before this writing. It was the Moon at 20 degrees conjunct the Sun on August 12, 2026 @ 1:37 PM ESDT. Just below is an illustration of the astronomy of the event.
What makes the astrology of the Eclipse significant is its interaction with the Nodal Axis.
The Nodal Axis is the invisible line connecting the North and South Lunar Nodes. The Lunar Nodes mark the points where the Moon’s orbit crosses the Sun’s path. The Nodal Axis in astrology acts as a Karmic compass. Indicating the souls past habits to be released in order to open the door towards balanced future growth.
This just passed Solar Eclipse New Moon in Leo on August 12th, inspired a beneficial time to reflect on lessons from the past, integrating useful wisdom while letting go of that which is no longer relevant. A good time to reflect on how you got to where you are now in your life. This helps to open the door to where you’d like to be and therefore set intentions that are congruent with your authentic true self.
To be free of the past in order to move forward towards new beginnings is a good thing. It requires courage coupled with joy and a spirit fired up through the desire and ability to creatively participate in life.
Just allow yourself to reflect on how amazing it is that the Leo Moon passes between the Earth and the Moon as the Moon begins a new cycle in its conjunction with the Sun.
Due to writing this brief piece after the Solar Eclipse New Moon event on the 12th of August. In fact reflecting and refining on the meaning of that moment here now…..8/30/2026.
For the sake of my own continuity through the course of disruptions that only serve to strengthen my committment and resolve to be consistent with my own studies and writing. Therefore I have put down my belated reflections and thoughts here as time and circumstances has permitted. For the sake of continuity and trust and respect for my own process.
I feel it necessary even at this late date albeit oh so very briefly to acknowledge and touch on the resources and gifts of the New Moon Solar Eclipse conjunct the Leo South Node.
In this way the reverberations of this period in time opens the doorway to personal growth, spiritual awakenings and transformation.
I hope my brief tracking of these events is helpful and inspiring on some level as we continue to keep on.
