Finances, our values and self esteem pertains to Taurus, as well.

This New Moon in Taurus included the influence of Ceres. Ceres, being a dwarfed planet that resides in the main asteroid belt located between Mars and Jupiter. She is named for the Goddess of Grain, the harvest and motherly relationships. With Ceres involved, this Taurus New Moon echoed topics pertaining to agriculture.

The Sun conjunct the Moon conjunct the dwarfed planet Ceres, in Taurus bearing down on the moment of new beginnings. Carrying with her influence the significant need for the necessary conscious awareness required to bring into focus issues concerning the manifestation of nature’s bounty.

Food and nourishment attained through the grounded fecund rhythmicity of respect for Mother Earth herself. It was, still is and always will be a critical component of life, specifically at this moment. Being made manifest through the global Climate Crisis. But it goes much deeper than that.

Mirroring the interesting times we are living in we have the Fixed Star Algol @ 26 degrees Taurus who follows Ceres and the Moon and Sun in Taurus.

There is much to say about this legendary and intriguing celestial body. It represents a symbol of powerful, turbulent energies.

It is based on the myth of Medusa who lived as a beautiful Oracle Goddess. Medusa was caught by Pallas Athena making love in one of her Temples. This infuriated and enraged Pallas Athena who, I imagine felt betrayed and disrespected by one of her own.

Athena’s rage and fury born of vengeful and calculated control cursed Medusa by turning her into a hideous being. A monstrous gorgon with snakes hissing and writhing from her head. Turning anyone who came to gaze upon her into stone.

However, as so many people were being turned to stone, Pallas Athena realized, this would not do. Hence, in the wisdom of her concern fueled by a bit of mercy commissioned Perseus to chop off Medusa’s snake infested head.

They collaborated with a strategy that consisted of Athena supplying Perseus with a sword along with a shield that served as a mirror. This way he would not have to gaze at Medusa directly but rather indirectly through the shield. Enabling his safety while being in Medusa’s presence.

As Medusa’s head was severed from her body, two streams of blood poured from her dismantled body. Manifesting as her children. Apparently having gotten pregnant through Poseidon.

One stream became Chryasaor, who wielded a golden sword and became the God of Discrimination. While the other stream of blood became Pegasus the Winged Horse God of Creativity.

This story symbolizes how the process of transformation gets played out through the myth and symbol of Medusa. Medusa, being the beautiful eternal goddess whose consciousness remained, albeit she was contained within the embodiment of the unfathomable monster

Perseus then gave Medusa’s severed head to Athena as a gift. Athena then utilized it as a weapon.

Such an interesting symbolic metaphor that begs a question on an existential level. A helpful question, being that when we are in the thick of circumstances and situations that are challenging; are you in front of Medusa’s head, which grips you with fear and turns you to stone, or are you behind Medusa’s head, therefore holding power. Keep in mind real true power is about the healthy embodiment of self empowerment. We are empowered and enlightened when we are aware of the connection we have with each other. Alone. Together. And together alone.

Perhaps Algol’s influence can be understood as tragedy transformed into a symbol of; magic, protection and power. Through conscious awareness we rise again, we transform and we are able to find a new purpose.

In this way Algol’s influence is that through crisis we have the power to make choices that includes taking care of one’s “head”. “Head” meaning the psychological and spiritual well being that comes from deep inner work. With its endpoint being healthy emotional and mental integration.

In so doing Algol’s energy can be harnessed to effectively free one’s self from limiting patterns. To then move forward into one’s life with the authentic embodiment of one’s full potential.

The resource and possibility inherent in this placement, when it is consciously dealt with, fosters self empowerment. Once you realize that the hideous trauma is no longer your reality, you are free. This then brings about the self awareness required for conscious decision making and moving forward with your life.

Following Algol in this Taurus New Moon stellium was Mercury at 28 degrees Taurus conjunct Uranus at 1 degree Gemini.

Mercury @ 28 degrees Taurus indicates a reclamation of our mind in terms of our way of thinking. A sense of mastery and understanding even conjunct the intimidating power of Algol. Still having the capacity to hold one’s own with a clear understanding of what really matters.

Yet again being tested once again by Uranus’s 1 degree presence in Gemini. Uranus in Gemini stimulates electrifying amplification of thoughts and ideas. So we are in the midst of learning about our mind, our thoughts and how to communicate them.

Through the energizing power of Uranus in Gemini we are moving from a 200 year cycle.

We are moving out of the influence of Earth cycles whose emphasis centered on perceptions of the physical material realm. Shifting towards an emphasis on Air and Fire planets moving slowly through the Zodiac.

With Air emphasis we are moving more quickly through flowing waves of life that nourishes our thoughts. Still and all acknowledging and integrating the value of the material world with its emphasis on mundane necessities.

To be utilized by a healthy ego, in the psychological sense of the word. A healthy ego being the part of our being that helps us function. Ego being aka Mission Control.

However, in December 2020, the alignment began to shift. Now the emphasis is both Fire and Air. Air energy brings intellect, curiosity and connectivity. Fire energy brings courage, inspiration and motivation. These influences through conscious awareness of their energies serve as catalysts.

Thereby providing the drive to take risks, break stagnation brought about by obsolete paradigms. This is the way forward towards pioneering new paths.

Meanwhile, that New Moon in Taurus on the 16th of May, indicated the beginning of the reception of new ideas. However, the slow moving energy of Taurus made us reflect on our understanding of what is appropriate to impart and share with others and/or to keep within the realms of the inner sanctum of our mind.

The stellium’s significance was magnified through its connection to the Minor Grand trine. This included the trine Uranus in Gemini formed to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius at 5 degrees. Whilst Pluto retrograde’s sextile to Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries at 10 degrees and 3 degrees respectively. Bringing it back home to the sextile Uranus in Gemini forms within the New Moon Stellium.

Uranus @ 1 degree Aquarius trine to Pluto retrograde @ 5 degrees Aquarius elicits a conundrum through a harmonious flow of disruption and transformation. All in service of bringing awareness to that which is stale, obsolete and no longer useful.

It seems that only through disruptions and crisis that the metamorphosis needed to bring about new systems and structures can occur.

As shifts slowly come into being through ideas creatively scripted via the sextile of Uranus in Gemini conjunct the New Moon stellium trine to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius sextile to Neptune 3 degrees Aries conjunct Saturn @ 10 degrees Aries.

This luscious sextile at the apex of this harmonious Minor Grand Trine imparts the spark of dynamic creative insights required to keep the transformative energies going.

As Khalil Gibran in his writing in the Prophet says, “Life and all that lives, is conceived in the mist and not in the crystal. And who knows but a crystal is mist in decay.”

While Eris conjuncts Chiron conjunct Mars at 28 degrees Aries forms a t-square to Jupiter in Cancer and Pluto retrograde in Aquarius.

This bit of tension evokes inner struggles contained through integrating fighting for one’s individuality in order to establish one’s identity. Even as the influence of “the Wounded Healer” evokes the memory of past wounds during moments that appear to be perceived as falling short. Bringing up feelings of self doubt.

While the square to Jupiter in Cancer expands awareness of one’s emotional needs. Another conundrum to be navigated. Even through feeling inhibited by insecurities concerning basic human needs and inner natural life force impulses. Seeking some sense of stability and safety through the Cancer influence.

The Jupiter influence expands the challenge to not overcompensate by either over extending one’s self out of obligation. In the other direction, one must be mindful of not lashing out in defensive reaction to a real or imagined feeling. This can get triggered when emotional safety appears to be compromised.

The challenge comes to completion as the square to Pluto retrograde in Aquarius elicits the need for structural transformation.

It is only through the awareness of how power dynamics come into play that we can formulate the corrective healthier use of such energies.

To then utilize the knowledge of the dynamics of power play to transform and channel towards constructive uses of such energies in order to serve the process of collective evolution.

This gets illustrated via stale dehumanizing ideologies that must be named, acknowledged and released.

As we continue we can experience a paradox; torn between fighting for one’s personal immediate desires while being mindful about serving a larger collective purpose.

This then releases the vitality and confidence required to be empowered to take action.
