The Full Moon in Aquarius @ 17 degrees which occurred on August 9, 2025 @ 3:55 AM ESDT was an illumination of the critical moment we find ourselves in.
The motivation of Aquarius inherently is in the interest of freedom, liberation, equality and dignity for all. To value the individuals rights to be who they are with integrity.
The goal and motivation for Aquarius is to encourage the establishment of systems that guarantee through social agreements and funding for the well being of all. To have it be a status quo reality that a well lived life must be understood to be an inalienable human right granted to each and every one of us.
Therefore this challenging moment we find ourselves in is understandably motivating voices of outrage. In light of illegal and oppressive actions being taken against the people and our democracy this outrage is a necessary healthy response.
Most psychologists and philosophers do understand that it is a healthy reaction to question the oppressors. To challenge them.
Aquarius’s job is to question authority. Particularly if the alleged authority makes decisions that put everybody in danger. So as the Moon in Aquarius is a fast moving event, quickly moving to the next sign, transiting Pluto in Aquarius continues on.
The Full Moon in Aquarius holds within its essence the understanding that we will all be liberated to live our lives in dignity and sustainability only when we all are free and able to do so.
To live respectfully in societies that are interconnected with shared understood common knowledge. To have in place protective laws that shapes the systems and structures based on sound scientifically evidenced based concepts that support life.
The writer Fernando J. Munez writes in his novel, “La Cocinera de Costamar” published in 2019, “We will all be equal only when all are eating equally well.” It’s a very Aquarian sentiment that expresses some of the issues and influences of this moment.
Therefore it is good to remember that Pluto’s current long, slow movement through Aquarius seeks to demolish structures built on antiquated sentiments. Pluto in Aquarius seeks to clear away the decay that gets in the way of birthing the new life. It is what we are witnessing getting played out quite vividly at this time.
The fiery, bright creative energy of the Sun in Leo illuminates the intentions inspired by the community oriented feeling of the Moon in Aquarius.
Aquarius energy has the capacity to evoke the sentiments required that gives courage for large groups of people to come together. To give voice to the many with fury and outrage demanding liberation, freedom and justice for all. Justice being the operative word as indicated by other influences being constellated at this time.
It is heartening to be reminded that the journey towards liberation, freedom and justice for all is a process. To understand it as such opens the door to compassion and empathy. Two necessary components required at this time along with perseverance and consistency. It is encouraging to be aware of how the current astrological influences supports these concepts.
At this time the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at 1 degree Aries forms an opposition to Mars at 1 degree Libra.
With fiery Mars in Libra, peace and harmony hangs in the balance. Impulsive, instinctually driven willful Mars must be reasoned with. The Libra energy supports this possibility.
However, the opposition of the Saturn/Neptune conjunction at 1 degree Aries to Mars in Libra indicates that our global community has much to contend with. Power play running amok is a magnified issue. As these are Cardinal world point degrees, we are witness to actions being played out globally. The righteous anger needing to be expressed when it’s realized that such current actions often are meant to serve only the very few.
Good thing this is the 21st Century! So mass communication is key. And this is a helpful necessity during these times.
To be aware that with Neptune involved conjunct Saturn, fear and insecurity becomes the affliction at the heart of the matter.
However, as a collective we are needing to learn to trust ourselves and each other as we are witness to harms being done through deception and deceit with motives based on antiquated ideas.
As a collective we have the capacity to learn how to consciously hold the tension of the opposites. To bear witness to danger so we are aware of how to take actions to mitigate the consequences and prevent ultimate catastrophe.
With Mars/Libra held within the tension of the opposition to Saturn/Neptune in Aries, we have the capacity, via our experiences, to be learning how to be aware of the influence of the push/pull of this dynamic configuration. How to find our center of truth within the friction of the push/pull.
Being aware of these astrological formations and influences affords us the capacity to affect the higher octaves of their influences towards life.
To hold the tension of the opposites in order to bring awareness to what is being played out.
So to recap, currently the players are Mars in Libra opposing Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries.
Saturn conjunct Neptune in Aries contains the dream and the nightmare.
We do see the Neptunian fog of delusional sentiments as brave journalists report. Their reports allow us to bear witness to the nightmare getting played out. However, Neptune in its higher octave influence contains transcendence, compassion and great empathy. These sentiments are evoked when we are confronted with evidence of the reality of the awful truth getting played out.
In combination with Saturn, the bringer of boulders and challenges in order to lead us towards our destiny. Our destiny is towards life. That willful blade of grass emerging from the ground after a long icy Winter. The Aries factor in this equation holds this possibility. As we hold the tension created in its opposition to Mars in Libra.
We can choose to not have the madness of war. But we must make our voices heard in its heartfelt yearning for merciful humanity.
The astrological configurations carry influences that can offer insights on how to work with electromagnetic influencing vibrations.
To be aware that as a collective we have the capacity to bring to this critical mass moment the sensible clarity that supports new life.
No matter how grim the situations and circumstances look at this moment there are harmonious energies that can light our way.
Albeit, it is fascinating how profoundly disturbing and dangerous it is that we have configured 3 or more world leaders (Trump, Putin, Netanyahu), who themselves are consumed by madness. Doing their pathological narcissistic and sociopathic thing and getting away with it. As we are witness to it more and more, the outrage and fury against their dangerous antics and outcomes are serving to open the eyes of more and more people.
All this to say, the planetary configurations and the active outrage of the people holds the strong possibility that they will not be putting our lives in harm’s way for much longer!
To be aware that sustainable life along with the configurations of the astrology do not predict or support such madness or war. Rather when understood through the lens of humanity, a door of consciousness is being opened by evolving peoples all around the world. Being witness to the needless suffering getting played out by the foibles, frailties and fallibilities of people who do not know any better. As we are enveloped in that darkness what becomes exposed shines a light on the truth.
It’s a bit dangerous at this time, however in the astrology we find other influences that can bring wisdom to support, guide and bring into being new ideas.
Within the powerful influences of the planets moving through the Zodiac, there is a growing imperative being communicated. Voices voicing demands that must get louder still, amidst movements being constellated by, We, the People.
The imperative is to transform this damaging madness being bought and paid for by out of touch billionaires from the trajectory we have been set on for quite some time really.
The reclamation of the power of the people is a possibility as the Mars/Libra opposition to Saturn/Neptune/Aries forms a tense square to Jupiter conjunct Venus in Cancer.
Currently we might be finding, more or less, that the ability to find comfort in things nurturing is being challenged. A sense of safety and security is being corrupted. Many of us, albeit not all of us are feeling it.
It is the result of unjust, unlawful actions taken by felonious presidents, along with their unqualified officiated sycophantic followers and their billionaire funders. To intentionally destroy any semblance of a working honorable democracy. To grab onto power motivated by a sociopathic personality disorder that devalues and disavows their own humanity and the humanity of others.
It is good we now have the words to give a name to it with its causes and effects. To comprehensively understand what we are witnessing. Most importantly we can then find ways to stop it. Then we must put in place binding legal guard rails to prevent this from happening again.
But in Aquarian fashion , I get ahead of myself. Prior to the above ideas being acted upon, current events and oppressive cruel policies are serving to awaken many more folks.
This critical mass moment is serving to validate the voices of concern that brave journalists and podcasters have been reporting on all along. In fact for many years now, informing us with fact and evidence that such things that we are witness to now have been coming to pass.
Along with the profound awareness of how literal indeed that the astrology can be.
This is where the astrological story offered another twist to the moment. We had the t-square of Venus/Cancer conjunct Jupiter/Cancer square to Saturn/Neptune/Aries opposition to Mars/Libra at the time of the Full Moon in Aquarius.
Venus/Cancer conjunct Jupiter/Cancer contains topics relating to justice and truth. Cancer, in need of security and stability that is contained within a comforting, nurturing practical and realistic connection to life. Not so easily acquired within the angles of a t-square.
However, Mercury Rx in Leo trine to Saturn/Neptune in Aries has the capacity to communicate. The urgency to bring back the critically important art of diplomacy must begin to resonate with those who have the platform to remind others of its current necessity.
Then armed with psychological skills on how to deal with folks ensconced in delusions of grandeur can create the shift needed, to buy time. The astrological influences of the t-square with Jupiter conjunct Venus in Cancer supports a well thought out intervention. So that with practiced empathy and mirroring, the possibility to establish the compromise needed can follow.
It’s through the two planetary entities manifesting the discomfort, friction and tension needed that evokes the shift. This discomfort emerging as disapproval serves as a wake up call for people to respond to. In part it is the influence of the Mars/Libra opposition to Saturn/Neptune in Aries.
We are able to bear witness to these influences when they become manifested in events. Events with circumstances that make us become aware of what they are.
Then through actions a shift can occur. An “aha” moment where a realization gains clarity. So that a new understanding opens the path towards responding responsibly to the dangers and perils at hand.
This dynamic evokes for me the adamant profound voice of the precocious little girl heroine from Liz Greene’s book,”The Astrology of Fate” who shouts, “No you can’t!!”, to the alleged authority taking liberties to do harm to her and others.
“No you can’t!”
“No you won’t do this harm!” This powerful t-square along with world events getting played out putting far too many in harm’s way brings to light the damage that must not be allowed to continue.
Venus in Cancer conjunct Jupiter being at the apex of the t-square to the Mars in Libra opposition to Saturn/Neptune in Aries is a perfect illustration of this moment.
Venus in Cancer brings to my mind the painting by Botticelli.
Albeit, unlike Botticelli’s Venus, we have not yet emerged from the sea contained within the Cancer shell fully formed.
We are a work in progress, a journey towards liberation, freedom and justice. A journey towards becoming communities of people that support a good thriving life of dignity for all.
As Marge Piercy states in her poem, “ Rough Times”;
“A new idea rarely is born like Venus attended by graces. More commonly it’s modeled of baling wire and acne. More commonly it wheezes and tips over.”
She concludes by saying, “ How clumsy we are in this new air we reach but cannot yet breathe.
It is comforting and even encouraging to know that as challenging as this time is, we have the influence of Venus in Cancer conjunct Jupiter at the apex of the t-square. To feel into what matters the most. To attune to the desires that motivate and inspire love, beauty, peace and harmony.
Neptune Rx in its higher octave of Venus can be utilized to serve the greater good as Saturn is there to ground and center us all as we are presented with issues and challenges that have the potential to serve to prevent any further descent into madness.
There is a symphony of planetary sacred harmonies interacting interdependently, as one, yet each separately, then coming together. This in my opinion insures that humanity via Divine wisdom must just finally get it right!
