The Capricorn Solstice 12/21/2024

The astronomy of the Capricorn Solstice is that it’s the day the Sun is directly over the Tropic of Capricorn. This latitude point is 23 degrees 27 minutes south of the Equator.
The Capricorn Solstice in relationship to Earth is when the Sun is at its southernmost declination point to the Ecliptic.
We have the shortest day and the longest night in the Northern Hemisphere. This day marks the beginning of Winter which goes until the Aries Equinox in March.
In astrology the Capricorn Solstice heralds in the Capricorn season.
Capricorn is well represented through the season of Winter. The somber sobriety and seriousness of Capricorn finds comfort in the solitude of shadow and joy in the brief moments of light.

The beginning of the Winter Season, as we progress into the light is a good time to reflect on your life.
It’s always helpful to take stock of the year we are passing through in order to focus on our wants, needs and desires moving ahead. To base our goals and strategies on those.
In the bleak darkness of the cold of Winter we have the opportunity to grieve and rage as a release of life is passing through. In this way we free ourselves of the past and move forward into a true present of self reclamation and freedom.

To surrender to the somber sobriety of solitude contains the wisdom needed to continue on. To move forward even through the darkest night. To energize and understand how to integrate our deepest desires into practical reality.
There is a solitude to the Capricorn season that influences our energies no matter what hemisphere you are on.

It’s about integrity. When we trust and have faith in our journey, even when the path must be traveled in solitude we develop a strong sense of self. A self that can be entrusted with responsibility.
This moment calls for taking a leap of faith into the New Year.
To slowly but surely come face to face with the challenges presented to us along with the delightful awareness of our aliveness.
To be empowered by the gift of being fully present and alive. To be inspired and encouraged by the beauty and grace contained within our very breath and heartbeat.
To have the integrity to persevere and practice discipline each and every day that leads us to the fulfillment of our objectives, plans and goals. To continue to follow through.
So let us keep on…..

It is curious to consider that 6 days before the Solstice there was a Full Moon in Gemini on December 15, 2024.

Gemini evokes swift momentary movements from experience to experience. While the Watery Moon slows Gemini down. This has been magnified through the conjunction it formed to Jupiter.
Gemini is compelled to find meaning in the experiences it encounters, as opposed to flitting from flower to flower. Pam Gregory, world renowned astrologer, succinctly points out, that Mercury, ruling planet of Gemini, in Sagittarius opposing Jupiter Rx in Gemini allows for a mutual reception.
This is a significant influence that has the capacity to bring the light of truth to the equation. Even in the midst of the square Jupiter forms to Saturn in Pisces and the opposition of Mars Rx in Leo opposing Pluto in Aquarius. More about that in my New Moon post.
This Air element influence in its healthiest use opens the door towards deeper clarifications and perceptions of ourselves. To be fully present in our lives and the world around us.

We are in the midst of a new beginning as we journey through the foothills of this moment of endings.

Dear readers, this is a brief post which got delayed as I took a wrong turn onto a choice that brought me to a place of chaos. So my writing got put on hold. I reflect on how this journey was teaching me about the influence of Jupiter in Gemini square Saturn in Pisces.
It was an uncomfortable but quite fascinating process as it brought me face to face with the dark night of the Soul. So perfect for this time of year.
As I am writing this on Solstice night it’s inspiring to have faith in the awareness that as dawn emerges the Sun king is born and we begin again.
To have the knowledge that slowly but surely within the next few months the light returns our longer days to us.
To utilize these dark somber winter months of shorter days to become revitalized with energy, joy and inspiration to continue on.
In chrysalis new life awaits shedding its shell in order to be reborn.
This is a time to be present, to be consciously aware which imbues us with the grace and strength needed to deal with what lies ahead.
Hence, I present a very, very, very abbreviated post.
However, stay tuned to my New Moon in Capricorn post for December 30 as we prepare for the adventure of 2025.
I am writing about the planetary influences of the moment in greater detail. I will also include their influences through the signs.

Wishing everybody a bright healthy happiness infused new year ahead!

Love,
Pamela
